Jax Beach man stops armed robbery
Police say an alert Jacksonville Beach man stopped an armed robbery by being observant.
Jacksonville Beach has the highest crime rate in Duval County, according to a recent study. However, Jacksonville Beach police officials say the figures are skewed because of the large number of visitors the city hosts for festivals, night clubs and the beach parking.
Both the KFC and Tire Kingdom located near the corner of Third Street and 10th Avenue South had been robbed recently, and Gary Godreou sprung into action.
