Economic stimulus refund

The Internal Revenue Service now has a calculator on its site that will tell you if you qualify for the economic stimulus refund scheduled to be made in May. The calculator also tells you how much you can expect to get.

Go to www.irs.gov and look for the link “Economic Stimulus Payment Calculator.” You’ll need your 2007 tax return in order to fill out the form.

All of that information is available at irs.gov. You will need to have your tax return to answer a few questions. The site will tell you how much to expect, and there’s a chart showing when the money is sent. It goes by your social security number.

people beware that there is a loop hole to screw people out of their stimulus rebate. My wife and i have filed jointly for the past 8 years and we were expecting a stimulus rebate. only to find out that we were denied because my wife did not put her entire maiden and married name on the tax form. we recieved the regular rebate but were told by the irs that her social security # did not match the name on file with the social security dept. that congress passed this rebate into law and if you social security # does not perfectly match in the database you will be denied.
