Hurricane registration for people with needs

Duval County reminds you that hurricane season begins June 1. If you have special needs or lack transportation and plan to use a public shelter, you should register with the county.

Residents of nursing homes should check with the facility about evacuation plans and can also register with the county.

It says you should register if you, or someone you care for, needs:

  • electricity for medical equipment
  • regular observation or help with medications. or
  • public transportation, even if healthy

At the beaches, you can get a registration form at the Beaches Energy office in City Hall. In Duval County you can call 630-2472 or go to coj.net. In St. Johns County call 824-5550 or log onto sjcemergencymanagement.org.
